Here I must stay

Here, here they have taken me.

Walking on the street,
Taking in the sights, the smells.
The world closed in, trapped in their small boxes which they call homes.

The car, speeding towards me,
Asking me questions, taking me in.
It recons I am not sane, I know this not to be true.

Here, here they have taken me.

I know not where I am,
I know not if there are others here.
I am trapped in this room, like all those in the outside world,
Trapped in their boxes.

Here, here they have taken me,
And here I must stay

  1. I enjoyed reading this poem. I liked how you employed repetition for poetic effect. Is that a typo in line3: "trappen"?
